Introducing the idea behind our Beeswax Healing Salve

"If the bees disappeared from the Earth, man would only have four years to live." Albert Einstein

Earlier this year, I attended a conference where I heard a woman speak about the health benefits of the byproducts of honeybees. I knew much of this already, but her speech inspired me to start researching the skin healing benefits of a combination of these products. My father is a farmer and is constantly getting scratched all over his arms from briars and tree limbs. He is going to be the first customer and I hope this will be an all-natural source to help those scratches and scars clear up faster and better. Look at the benefits below, then read about the ingredients of our Beeswax Healing Salve.

Honeybees

Pollination is one of the most important biological processes on our planet. It is the transfer of pollen from the male part of a flower to the female part, which fertilizes the plant and allows it to produce the next generation of plants, including the fruit and crops we eat. While some plants rely on wind and water for pollination, most flowering plants reproduce through animal pollination. Around 75% of crop plants require some degree of animal pollination, including many of our everyday fruit and vegetables. Bees are one of the most important pollinators, with an estimated 80-90% of this role being carried out by honeybees 2. By cross-pollinating a wide array of flora, bees improve the gene pool of plant species in a particular location. A thriving bee population results in broader biodiversity, which means more microhabitats for different animals, birds, and insects. Birds are a general predator of bees, and thus the bird population is significantly impacted by their presence. Bees have evolved through a very long and selective process of natural selection. They inhabit the base level of the food chain while being one of the most important contributors to the development of this base. The presence of different species of bees all around the world proves their importance in the ecosystem. Scientists have also discovered certain flowers that only accept bees as pollinators with their unique structure and adaptations. It is estimated that bees visit 90% of the top 107 crops in the world.

Beeswax

Aside from candles, cosmetics, and food, beeswax has a wide range of practical uses and benefits. Beeswax is full of Vitamin A, which is great for our skin. Vitamin A helps protect our skin from environmental irritants and aids in regeneration. It does not clog pores and is great for people with acne-prone skin.

Propolis

Propolis is magical. It is essentially the glue that bees use to close holes and small openings in their hives. It contains anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that smooth and lighten the skin. The main cause for this is the antioxidants, such as flavonoids, that work to eliminate free radicals on the skin. Propolis not only moisturizes, but it also smooths fine lines and wrinkles and addresses age spots. It is chock full of antifungal, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and antimicrobial properties. This is why it is an acne MUST HAVE. And, just like beeswax, it does not clog pores.

Honey

According to the National Library of Medicine, evidence indicates that honey can exert several health-beneficial effects including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antidiabetic, respiratory, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, and nervous system protective effects. Specifically, honey has acted as a wound healing agent oftentimes when modern medicine has failed. It has been. The anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects of honey play an important role in reducing acne and breakouts. These properties reduce the bacteria that causes pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads. They also help to treat the redness and inflammation associated with breakouts. As an antioxidant, honey blocks free radicals to slow the aging process.

Pollen

Bee pollen is a potent antifungal, antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and immuno-stimulating agent. It is helpful also for ridding acne, aging spots, and wound healing. When local pollen is ingested, it can strengthen your immune system. Pollen can reduce stress, relieve menopause symptoms, and reduce liver health. It is especially beneficial in skincare because it is an antioxidant and reduces inflammation.
