Our Journey to Homesteading
I work as a full-time public school teacher and school bus driver. Karleigh is a welding supervisor at a fabrication plant. We also have a two-year-old son. Karleigh has always felt a pull toward living this way, but it took me a while to get on board because I was stuck in the mindset of paying bills, 401(k)s, and employer-provided health insurance. Since having our son, we have both realized the cycle that is the hamster wheel and value our time much more than money. We want to become self-sufficient in a world that becomes increasingly unstable by the minute. We want our son to grow up learning through experience, rather than sitting still in a classroom for 8 hours a day. We are not there yet, but we are well on our way. Please follow our journey!
